Jiayun Li
Inclusion: K, T, W
Jiayun Li’s Portfolio
Introduction
This ABC’s book is for kids and the theme “inclusive” seems hard for children to understand. I created little pig characters and used these characters to explain the intricate concepts through comics.
K is for Kindness
I use three scenes to explain that kindness is being friendly, considerate and generous. The three examples make the concept clear. The stories are simple but they are easier for kids to understand.
T for Trigger
Instead of focusing on trigger, I focus more on telling audience the reaction when someone is triggered. The visualization of angry and sad prevent audience to trigger others. They will understand how people feel after they triggered.
W for Who
The key to the this letter, “W”, is not the question, “Who is responsible?”, and is actually the answer that everyone is responsible to inclusive no matter the differences between people(Pigs). Pigs with different features hold hand to show their unity on the answer.
Summary
I am focus on using simple understandable language and visualization to explain the concept. In this lesson, I did a lot of researches with my team. We went to the inclusive office and the Strong Museum. Those researches provide me great inspirations. I really wish my audiences no matter kids or parents can have more understanding on inclusive.
